RetailEngine at K5 2026 in Berlin
On June 23–24, the K5 Future Retail Conference took place at Estrel in Berlin. Five stages, 250+ speakers, representatives from Zalando, OTTO, Amazon, About You and hundreds of other brands.
We also attended the event and brought back an important insight.
What came up?
This year's agenda centered on three subjects: Asian speed models (Temu, Shein), social and live commerce, and artificial intelligence. The key storyline was the usage of AI in retail and commerce.
Why does it matter?
Retail needs a dedicated AI-based decision-making layer. It determines which offer, in which channel and at which moment a specific customer receives. This is the main takeaway from K5.
Speakers consider the shift to AI the trend for the upcoming years. RetailEngine is already putting this into practice through AI DecisionLayer, which connects POS and loyalty systems with AI models and makes decisions at the individual customer level in real time across all channels.
